Appearance
The Appearance tab switches the whole app between Light and Dark mode. It is a personal preference, not a workspace or project one. It stays the same no matter which workspace or project you switch to.
Where to find it
Settings → Account Settings → Appearance (/settings/account/appearance).
How do I change my theme?
- Open the Appearance tab.
- Click Light or Dark. The one currently active is highlighted; the change applies immediately, with no save step.
Where the choice lives
Your choice is saved in this browser's local storage, not on your account record on the server. That means:
- It applies instantly and does not need a network round trip.
- It is per-browser and per-device; signing in on a different browser or a different computer will not carry your choice over.
- The very first time you open the app in a browser (before you have ever picked a theme there), it follows that device's OS-level dark or light preference instead of defaulting to Light outright.
How this connects to the rest of the platform
Nothing else on the platform reads this setting; it is purely a display preference for your own session. It is independent of the workspace-level settings covered in Workspace Admin and of the project-level settings administered from each project.
