Archiving items

Where to find it: Workspace → Inbox (/inbox), Personal view. Archiving tucks an item away without deleting it. It is always recoverable, so use it freely to clear the noise.

How do I archive one item?

Every row in the list has an archive icon. Click it and just that row is archived, without opening it (clicking the icon does not trigger the row's normal "select" behavior). If the item you archive happens to be the one currently open in the detail pane, the detail pane clears and the item param is dropped from the URL.

Archive all

The Archive all button in the toolbar archives exactly what is currently rendered: the active lane intersected with whatever you have typed into search. You are asked to confirm first ("Archive all N item(s) in the current view?"). This makes it a safe way to clear out a whole lane, or just the items matching a search, without touching anything outside that view.

How do I view and restore archived items?

The Archived button (with a count badge when there is anything archived) opens a modal listing everything you have archived, scoped to the same workspace and project as the main page:

  • Its own search box, filtering by title or preview.
  • Each row shows title, type badge, preview, and relative time, with an unarchive icon to restore it individually.
  • Unarchive all restores everything currently shown in the modal (respecting its search box), again with a confirmation step first. This is the recovery path if an Archive all click was a mistake.

Unarchiving returns an item to wherever it originally belonged, its Needs you or Updates lane, not to some separate "restored" state.

What archiving does and doesn't do

  • It does not change read/unread status.
  • It does not delete the item or its history; it is purely a visibility filter on the main list.
  • It has no effect on notification delivery (e-mail, Slack, in-app) for that item, since those already fired when the item was created.
